In response to the Central Bank’s OMO for siphoning off the additional liquidity from the market, the banks offered to buy treasury bills worth Rs13.50 billion for two days, while the Central Bank lifted all the offers at 6 percent rate of interest.

Money market dealers said that following the inflow of Rs27 billion in the banking system on maturities, the Central Bank went on OMO for absorbing this liquidity. Dealers said that the Central Bank could further resort to OMO.

FC Deputy Commandant, Rahmat Khan told Geo News that FC didn’t possess enough personnel that could enable it to post its men for the security of terminals.
